Are you talking about the pin which engages the paper crank? Press-fit.

E,
I understand your concern and trust me I am going through this process slowly and methodicallybecause I understand how rare these parts are. I feel very luck I have gotten this far with out anything breakingon a machine this old. Everything else has come off very easy.Twisting should have worked regardless of weather it was threaded or pressed.Sometimes parts are frozen beyond any attempt to free them.Just asking because if it was threaded I will just drill it out and not attempt any more pressing.Too small for an easy-out.I did see it in the parts diagram a few days ago and it looked pressed in the drawing.Very small part hard to see detail in the drawing. Was hoping for feedback from someone who has actually seen the real part not just the diagram.

Steve,
Please, please, please… before twisting stuff off, have a look at the parts diagram, to see how it all goes together (and I really mean this kindly). Parts are becoming harder to come by and every part has a reason… even skilled-machined parts may cause things not to work properly.
That said, do you have a photo of what you broke?
