[GreenKeys] What is a polar relay?

 Jeff,
  I think I get the picture now.Normally neither contact is closed.Positive voltage connects common to one throw and negative connects common to the other?Is that it?

It is a SPDT center off relay. With two coils.
One coil pulls it one way, the other coil pulls it the other way.
