Steve,
The 28ASR has a paper punch and tape distributor (reader) and can be
configured to copy on the printer on paper, or punch a tape and can
type on the paper and punch a tape simultaneously. Even punch a tape
and send at the same time from the distributor.
I was TTY operator for several years with Kansas Highway Patrol, we used a
TTY network with 28ASRs for our interdivision communications. Had lots
of fun with the machine. We had around 120 machines on the entire state
network with select call.
