Ok I realized that I have only one teletype and four 3D Printed Chad boxes which means I have three that I’m willing to share. If you pay postage (or are in the Raleigh NC area and just want to drop by and pick one up) I will offer them to the first three people who speak up. Note that one of them has a postit on it labeled Defect, but I’m having trouble identifying exactly what the defect is as all three of them fit into my ASR Mod 33 teletype.

A really good friend of mine did a good model based on the measurements from a Mod 33 and printed it out using Clear PETG filament:

You can find the model at: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/2cbbf35c02c4cfa06ae90965/w/abeb2b8bd11fbed805681265/e/192c60658ef050ecdf09d475

The clear PETG Filament that he used was: https://www.wyzworks.com/petg-175-filament-clear.html

In order to get the best print, turn it at an angle like this:

You don’t need the 3D printer, just use sheets of Plexiglas or acrylic easily obtainable from your local plastic store (Tap Plastics in some locations). Some stores will even cut or build it for you.

Ouch ($35 starting bid; BIN $75).

Someone was considering 3D-printing one of these in two parts and then solvent-welding them together? Any progress?

I’ve done “terrible things” with stiff cardboard and glue in the past. Something serviceable (with a cutout window covered with a sheet of acetate) might be ginned up in that manner given careful dimensioning. Use “Teletype Gray” cardboard and then stencil a logo on the side :->.
