You don't need the 3D printer, just use sheets of Plexiglas or acrylic
easily obtainable from your local plastic store (Tap Plastics in some
locations).   Some stores will even cut or build it for you.

Ouch ($35 starting bid; BIN $75).

 

Someone was considering 3D-printing one of these in two parts and then
solvent-welding them together?  Any progress?

 

I've done "terrible things" with stiff cardboard and glue in the past.
Something serviceable (with a cutout window covered with a sheet of acetate)
might be ginned up in that manner given careful dimensioning.  Use "Teletype
Gray" cardboard and then stencil a logo on the side :->.
