Hi folks, Astrid here from the Connections Museum in Seattle.
I'm working to arrange a KSR No. 33 for use as the local maintenance
teletype for our No. 3 ESS.
The 33 that I have is presently arranged with a UCC-8 call control
unit, which is wired such that neither the UCC-3 nor UCC-6 match its
terminal strip at all. Also the UCC-8 is very simple; no dial or
network or anything. It only has a 9-position terminal strip, 20mA
card 182631, transformer, capacitor, and two fuses (3/8A sl-bl, 2.5A
sl-bl).
Furthermore, the drawings for the 3ESS specify a 33 KSR modified with
a kit named NTFR9. This appears to result in a full-duplex machine
(separate keyboard and printer, leads +S +R -C), and an alarm contact
ALM in the teletype, on leads ALM/ALMR. An external idle-line control
unit is also specified. Abbreviated diagram is on page B3AA of
SD-1C905, <https://files.connections.museum/s/nZswscDScJ35m4n> (That
drawing says 35, but 33 and 40 are also acceptable by other drawings.)
I can't find information on UCC-8 anywhere in our archives or online,
and I'm similarly turning up blanks for the kit NTFR9. Do the experts
of this list have anything that might point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
