[GreenKeys] Another possible substitute for 'quick lube' situations?

After reading all of the recent comments about WD-40 and how unsuitable it is for
virtually EVERYTHING inside a Teletype cabinet, I remembered another spray can
of 'lube' given to me by the fellow who installed our garage door and opener.
It is in a spray can, the same size as WD-40, and has a red, white and black label
on the can.
It's name is (surprise!) "GDL" or "Garage Door Lubricant". This product has been
around since 1973, according to the label. The same panel also mentions "contains
silicone".
I was hoping that like some food and mineral supplements, it might have a small or
medium sized box with a list of ingredients or contents. All I've located is a
mention of "Hexane" (CAS 110-54-3) and Mineral Oil (CAS 8042-47-5), and silicone.
Label also contains some warnings like, "Excessive inhalation of vapor or spray
mist, intentional misuse by concentrating and inhaling vapor, or ingestion of
liquid may be harmful or fatal. Also may cause damage to the nervous system.
Contact with liquid may irritate eyes and sensitive skin."
In short, the box/panel of "PRECAUTIONS" is at least twice the size of the
box/panel of instructions for use.
That is pretty straightforward about 'door hinges, rollers, locks and bearing
surfaces.' A reminder that the can 'should be near room temperature 72F (22C)'.
The product included a 5 inch spray tube which can be inserted into the spray
button orifice, to get at hard to reach spots, etc.
The last bit of info is this:
"Made in USA for:
SHANCO Inc.
1926 Garden Creek Rd.
Casper, WY 82601
(307) 266-1444
Does anyone have any strong opinions, pro or con, about this being used on say,
a model 28 printer? Any evil things known about Hexane and Mineral oil and
silicone that need to be mentioned here?
If it is important I could supply a photo of the UPC label, but I can say that
the major info there is "Part No. #500" on top, and "33743 10501" on the bottom
of the UPC. There is also a tiny 6 to the left of the left-most bar, and a tiny
7 to the right of the right-most bar.
I think I've had this for about 4 years now, since the last time I had any service
done on the opener. At that time, one of the extremely strong coil springs had
broken and needed to be replaced. (Both were replaces, as a matter of policy.)
The light spraying of the springs was strongly recommended a few times a year.
Oh, yeah. Also mentions in heavy black print, "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN"
73,
