OK - I *ADMIT* I didn't read the whole document but:

1. It doesn't do automatic carriage return - only line feed.

2. It says: (1 GENERAL / a. "The 184157... does an automatic
    LINEFEED when the CARRIAGE RETURN KEY is depressed). Doesn't
    say anything about WHEN A CARRIAGE RETURN IS RECEIVED.
