[GreenKeys] Houdini lock lube

    You can learn a little more by looking up the CAS numbers. 
That still won't tell you much. One of the ingredients is barium 
carbonate. I looked it up and can't understand what it is 
supposed to do in a lubricant.
    Please note that "organic" means any chemical containing 
carbon. All petroleum products are organic.
    MSDS are legal documents. If there is a need to know the 
proprietary ingredients for emergency purposes they can be 
identified by the emergency poison centers. In general an MSDS 
will not tell you how to make something. Ingredients judged not 
to be health or safety hazards do not even have to be listed.  
Sometimes foreign MSDS will have more information than U.S. ones.
    Another note: A great many things are trade secrets. They are 
protected under the law but the proprietor has certain legal 
obligations to maintain the protection. A trade secret can be 
protected forever where a patent has a limited lifetime (now 
twenty years in the U.S.) after which it becomes public property. 
Which method is used depends on the product and its expected 
commercial lifetime. The law regarding trade secrets is complex; 
there is no protection against someone finding the same formulas 
or methods independently but a former employee can not take a 
formula or process with him/her.
    This stuff is probably no more dangerous than any other 
penetrating oil and probably no more effective.
    Locks are a great hobby; one can find many posts on You Tube 
by the "Lockpicking Lawyer" for instance so there is likely a 
pretty good market for specialty items relating to them.
