Does anyone have a solution for the "sleeves" on the armature extensions in
the Model 43 print head?
I was following the service guide to clean and lubricate parts in the print
head.
I noticed that the rubber/plastic sleeves on the coil armatures have become
brittle and fallen off of a few of the coils. They are like wax now.
These are spacers or buffers between the coil armature and the print wires.
MANUAL 391,3-17
With the sleeve missing, the hook still goes around the armature extension,
but it's loose.
see attached photo.
It still prints but I expect it's degrading the print quality somewhat.
Will the wires being loose like that, eventually lead to damage?
Is there a modern part that will work to replace the sleeve?
Should I just leave well enough alone?
Thanks
