Well there came to be a whole zoo of TDs in the 28 line.  LXD, LAXD,
LBXD...LFXD.  The old XD Model 14 could operate at 100 wpm by changing
to appropriate gears and a Model 28 style all-metal clutch.  So it was
conceptually a way to get started.
