[GreenKeys] Halloween Broadcast 2020

Jordan,

Thanks for putting on the show!  Unfortunately my TT-98 bound up a week
ago and I haven't had time to dig into it.

But you did make me look into "I am Legend".  I had never heard of it
and don't know how I missed the movie or the original book, back in the
1950s. But I did find the movie & watched it.

On Autostart, the standard is to generate a mark tone for a few seconds,
before transmitting text.  That is how the TUs decide that there is a
signal and turn on the printer. Some TUs give the choice of turning on
with just the mark tone or with a FSK signal.  The "FSK" signal
detection would detect nulls (BLANKS), but a TU (like the HAL ST-6) that
only turns on on a steady mark may not.  So the best path is just to
transmit 3-5 seconds of steady mark tone before sending the text.

Once I get my TT-98 running again, I'll go to your website & see if you
have the recording of "I Am Legend" up so that I can copy it.

Thanks,

Duncan
