Greetings Greenkeyers!
Apologies for the sort-of off-topicness -
I have found a box of 17 ATKO code practice machine tapes - I'm not a
Code Machine collector (or much of a code sender for that matter) so I
thought perhaps someone here might be interested, or know of someone who
would be.
For info, the ATKO machine (which a bit of research reveals the FCC
employed for Ham license testing) uses paper tape about 1/2", sprocketed
in the center, with holes punched above and below the sprocket line. The
top holes turned the tone 'on' and the bottom holes turned it back
'off', with the interval making dits and dahs. Kinda clever...
The machines were all solid-state, and had several different diameter
sprocketed capstans to accomplish sending speed changes.
To clarify, I don't have the machine, just the tapes, found at a big
garage sale along with many boxes of technical books which was my main
interest there.
If any interest, when responding copy me off-list por favor, as I am
having a bit of trouble receiving some GK posts lately.
Cheers
