[GreenKeys] Paul, ad7i, email about local loops

Sorry about the OT, but I had just looked at this item (see photo) just before I read your comment about 12AX7's and 1N37 diodes. I have a couple of these and keep one setting on my "interesting items" shelf. I'm not sure what computer system it came from. I used to frequent a surplus electronics store in the early 70's that had a couple racks full of these in their outdoor lot, and didn't mind if people helped themselves to it. I brought home a wagon full of these, toed behind my bicycle. Did you work on vacuum tube computers?

For some time, I've been getting maybe 30% of Greenkeys posts; I've been occasionally collating and comparing posts to see if there's a pattern, but so far nothing in common appears. I'm running Thunderbird under Win7, and this is a 'problem' which has gotten more pronounced in the last several months. I get GK on my phone, too, and it reflects the same issue.

I've no way of knowing where the problem lies - I'm pretty sure it's on this end, but the few times I've tried ISP tech support, they've (after hours and sometimes days) returned with "Well, we see it, but have no idea what to tell you, and oh by the way we only support Outlook and Office 365 so if you like we can help you upgrade RIGHT NOW LET'S GO HURRY UP USE REAL SOFTWARE YOU MORON..." etc etc.

In the meantime, I just scan thru the current Archives to see what I've missed recently....

Sigh...... computers! I liked them better when they were full of 12AX7s and 1N37 Ge. diodes!

Cheers

I'm curios if this is a problem only for me or for others as well. (I did receive he post from John, W9DDD, earlier about the wood table.
