Yes I have,

It turned out after much investigation that GOOGLE (gmail) was discarding mails from a mail list That were the reflected copy of an email the user had sent to the list.  

It was determined that there is no setting at your gmail account to prevent this.  This all happened quite some time ago,  I see that Nick is using gmail.
