Hello, I tried to send the message below to the list a couple of days ago
but it didn't go through. Here it is again.
Hello, I am writing to let you all know that my friend made a 3d model of
an asr 33 type wheel.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4159598
He used this to 3d print a high resolution model, and then created a mold
from that print, cast a new wheel in jb weld, and that wheel was tested in
an ASR 33 and it worked. The model is provided for anyone who wants to
attempt casting a new wheel in jbweld or to use any other manufacturing
process they think may work.
A couple of wheels are available for museums or educators who need them.
Please contact me directly off list. These are direct casts from original
wheels and do not contain the signature present in the 3d models.
No further details on the process will be provided, as it required a lot of
advanced technique and my friend is not interested in writing a long
detailed guide as would be required.
This model also allows for people to create new wheels with custom fonts,
have fun!
