[GreenKeys] ST-6's in this day and time (also old enough to remember all those tobacco ads)

Wow!
Think there's a way to let Ethan know that a few of us other Greenkeyers
would just LOVE it if he did a Part 2 for his ST-6 YouTube video? The first
one and the literature Ralph shared with me helped me troubleshoot my ST-6.
I'm down to replacing discrete components like caps and resistors that are
out of spec or leaking. So thanks for the first, and please think about
making the second one...
In fact, for anyone who is a veteran of maintaining any demodulator/TU
device I will say this: It's one thing for some of us to "slog through"
literature to figure out how to debug a piece of vintage gear and possibly
have success, but to have others that can "pool" their experiences with a
piece of gear- like Ethan has with the ST-6, and make a good detailed video
about it, along with "tips and tricks" about connecting, using and even
reasonable modification with a view to longevity, ease of maintenance and
restoration would "rule the day" and preserve for tomorrow the miracles of
yesterday that are still present and pressed into service even today.
Greenkeys epitomizes the amazing sharing of mental power toward its goal of
preserving and enjoying in the present sense and time the glorious art of
communication. It never ceases to amaze me in brief span of less than two
human generations we have come from telegraphy and telephony to the
internet and A.I.
This makes the importance of preserving things as significant as Ray
Bradbury's monumental "Fahrenheit 451". We may not of ourselves become
"chapter and verse" of history as the characters of Bradbury's work became
but our task is no less important!
In a world of generalists the guru is the emperor. I would be happy to be
Paul Cembura's pet grunt and learn all he knows, or a scribe to Jim Haynes,
and preserve his wisdom. If there is a Dovetron grand master out there, I'd
love to work with that person, and learn all he or she would know. Then
before I shuffle off this mortal coil, be able to pass on to a "disciple"
all I know, and my archives, and my wizard's staff and cape.
For some it may sound like insanity. But for some, it is enchanting as a
J.R.R. Tolkien odyssey.
OK gents, time for my evening medication, then to sleep, perchance to
dream...
73!
