[GreenKeys] M28 cabinets - skin tight vs skin tight

It has been difficult to wrap one's brain around that series of cabinets
(covers?).
In my previous Teletype life I had never heard a label other than skin
tight. (I had a KSR and an RO in bell system gray which I suspect may
have come from the Chicago Board of Trade)
Coming back into it and doing a lot of reading before having any
machines, I kept seeing terms like compact and rack mount as well. And
this is just in the Teletype literature.
And then recently I realized that skintight can be either 17 or 17.5"
wide. That may be where the rack mount term came into the picture.
So I like to use only the term skin tight for LPC206 like
cover/cabinets. (is it a cover or a cabinet?)
So then we see compacts like AN/UGC-20/25 and TT-176. As near as I can
tell both of those get the compact label, but you can also find
reference to these as skin tight. And I see the TT-176 labeled as rack
mount also.
Did I make it more confusing? I'm not sure even Teletype was consistent.
