The CV-2460 uses fixed frequency phase shift filters for 850 shift (HF
1575/2425) or 200 shift (UHF 500/700). These feed a product detector
designed for these frequencies - I don't know how well it'll work on
receive for 170 shift - it won't be right but it might work.
For transmit you'd have to modify the oscillator on the A3 board - maybe
the trim pots would let you get 170, maybe not.
The CV-483 circuit is quite different and the "narrow" discriminator can
handle 170 shift (or anything between 10-200 Hz)
That's a longabout way of saying "I don't really know". I only use my
CV-2460 as designed, for 850 shift.
