[GreenKeys] Teletype TT-36/GGA-1 TD for crypto system

Paul Cembura let me borrow his manual RS-5562 for scanning, RS- means it
is a Restricted publication, the first I have seen.
http://www.navy-radio.com/manuals/tty/5562RS-ENG-iss1-4612.pdf

This manual covers Duncan's strange TD (TT-36/GGA-1) which we have
discussed before. When enciphering plain text this tape reader breaks a
clear text tape into 5 letter groups, inserts CR/CR/LF after 10 groups,
etc. When deciphering it takes out the extraneous spaces between 5 letter
groups.

As best I can tell from this manual and from a little AN/GGA-1 description,
I believe that this was used to feed characters to the KL-47 off-line
crypto machine. Or, using the ENG 308 Translator, it could be used to feed
an ECM Mk II crypto machine (which was normally an off-line manual machine).

Photos of the GGA-1 and Duncan's TT-36 are at
http://www.navy-radio.com/crypto.htm#gga1

Any additional info, etc, is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Nick England K4NYW
