[GreenKeys] Four-prong wiring question on M19s...

I can answer one question! When Jack had all the 28s lined up it was long before he obtained that model 19. So the model 19 was not involved.

Keep going. Many of these machines were modified by various owners along the way for who knows what purposes.

Now that it’s getting hotter outside, I sat down with the ohm meter to try to trace things out. To recap, the 19 has the rare four-prong AC plug and the table has two four-prong jacks - one in the table and a loose one that connects up to the power junction box. Decided that I wasn’t going to figure out anything without the 19, so I hauled that downstairs and started plugging away ;p . Finally came to some conclusions - progress!

On the other 19 wood table that I have, the table switch trips the power receptacles on back. In addition, the base for the 14TD (in the table) on my first table has a switch built-in switch for AC power, on the side of the table base. Jack’s table does not.

The switch on the 19 trips the receptacles on back of the table, which also connects up with the switch in the table (from there) and then the 14TD. The way it looks to me, the loose four-prong jack is an extension for some other device(s) outside of and in addition to the table… the switch on the 19 also controls one of the jacks on that loose four-prong plug. This still doesn’t explain why my first 19 table has a clamp for a loose something in the junction box (in the same place), but no something.

I think it both carries AC power and maybe is part of the line loop, but I need to confirm further… it’s been about a month since I’ve had a look at it. The plug might also be part of this extension that went to somewhere ;p ? Right now the way it is, it goes no where, so who knows~

I’m not sure if Jack installed this or it was all done at the radio station that this 19 came from, but I remember Paul saying that Jack had a bunch of 28s, like a news room, all lined up together. I wonder if this 19 was the central hub. Also, the line loop has an extra set of phone wires (two-pair) wired up on he back of the table - on the terminals - so… maybe this backs up the extension idea further?... not sure ;p .
