[GreenKeys] motor shaft gear

I can't address the issue of Lorenz parts but I can say that the Teletype
104579 pinion is from a Model 14 TD set up as a receiving distributor.
The 104579 pinion (7T) and the matching 104580 gear (30T) have a ratio of
.233333. That ratio when multiplied by the speed of a Model 14/15 60 HZ
sync motor - 1800 RPM - equals 420 RPM. The receiving shaft of a Model
14 or Model 15 printer turns at 420 RPM when it is set up for 60 WPM
operation. If you were able to find the matching 104580 gear, it would
most likely not work as you hoped. Helical gears are described as being
either right or left handed. The common 60 WPM gears for a Model 15 are
the 74912 pinion (7T) and the 74913 gear (30T). Those gears have a
different "hand" than the 104579 and 104580 gears.

Here's a link to the Teletype manual where the 104579 gear is found:

http://www.navy-radio.com/manuals/tty/jh/ttyman4/TeletypeManuals/model14/1095B-Chg1.pdf

Look on page 16 of the manual which is page 21 of the PDF.

Good luck with your project.
