[GreenKeys] More on the LPR hammer?

Agreed, Tom! I’ll need a few. Not sure if Mark will be able to make them for others, or if we need to all get 3D printers, or if we can find a third party to reproduce them. I’ve heard there are third parties what will indeed do this, even to scale if need be.

One key item will be finding an elastomer that can stand up to thousands of punches and last many years.  Especially one that can be 3D printed. That sounds hard, but I know nothing about 3D printing, so fingers are crossed for Mark to find success!

I spoke with George Hutchison and got some more information on how far he got. He had a mould made that could produce 10 or 20 at a shot. He was experimenting with various elastomers and found one that would meet the specifications very nicely. The problem was that bubbles wold form. He tried vacuum to prevent that, but it did not work. If I understand correctly, he was told by the manufacturer to use pressure and a gas. Well, that makes things much harder doesn’t it? It think at that point, which was a few years ago, he stopped working on the project.
