I had read about this before, but forgotten most of it.

It was also good to see the date of the introduction of the IBM 
Selectric as 1961.  At the AWA Museum, when people see the M28 printer's 
type box, they often say, "just like the IBM Selectric." Now I can tell 
them that its the Selectric that is like the M28, since the M28 came out 
10 years earlier.
