Oh, I don't need any silly Arduino boards. I design PCBs in my day job, in my hobbies, and in my sleep. :) I already had the prototype PCB design done when I got distracted by other projects, before I got around to fabricating anything. Sigh.

The little sometimes-free, otherwise-cheap aluminum LED flashlights are exactly the ones I designed for. These ones:

I was planning on using the original light head, just with a little circular PCB stuck between the new battery and the original light head. I'd be replacing the 3x AAA holder with a CR123 to free up space inside the flashlight housing for the new electronics.
Well, maybe one of these days I'll finish it...
