Hey GreenKeyers!
I've make some great progress thanks to many members of this group. Many of
you have offered advice and documentation and pointed me to even more
documentation on Nick's Navy Radio pages.
I've now discovered some things that a few of you had already struggled with
and had come up with quite a few different solutions. It seems that
Teletype Corporation was just slightly amiss with their support of the
reperforators that they used to replace the perforators in some of their ASR
units. It was left completely up to the customer as to how to use the
selector magnet mechanism that was in the reperf. The documentation was
sparse and totally disconnected.
So with the help of GreenKeys I'm well on my way to resolving this issue,
using the information I have gleaned from many sources over the last few
days. I have found that elusive 314A relay and cleaned up the rats nest of
wiring that was inhabiting my ASR from mods made by many well meaning (or
not) technicians of the decades. I finally got things back together and
when powered up, to my surprise things were working in a manner I was now
able to understand.
I still have lots of things to accomplish, but I'll keep the group advised
as I progress along my quest
