Whatever you choose is OK, but some of us have ONLY 100Hz resolution on the
FSK center freq. I can do 14,083,800+/-85 Hz but I cannot set an arbitrary
freq. IF the AFSK suppressed carrier freq is on an even kHz, then I will
be within 10 Hz since the FSK freq is 2210+/-85 from there, or for "14086",
then the ham FSK freq is 14083,790+/-85 Hz.
If you make the mark frequency on an even kHz, then 15Hz is as close as I
can come. You choose, but please be prepared for some of us to be "off
frequency".
Those of us running 850 shift with military gear know that our FSK center
freq has to be on 1 kHz boundaries because some gear doesn't even do 100Hz
steps..
I am sure that hams, the military, and commercial outfits could have made
the situation even worse, but it sure seems like they were trying really
hard.......oh yeah, don't forget to toss in mark high vs mark low....
Cheers,
Nick
