Ken,
The HD-3030 was not in the same class as the ST-5 (later with autostart)
or definitely not as good as the ST-6. You could copy CW with the HAL
ST series units with the proper software and a computer later. I would
doubt you could copy CW with a Teletype and that HD-3030, it arrived
when many were using the first computers for "glass RTTY". If I am
remembering correctly, Flesher or someone in that era made a "step up"
version of the TU-170 Flesher made and Heathkit just licensed it to
resell, much like they did the AEA PK-232 later. This RTTY TU was one
of the later TU's, as Heath was on the way out. I built one for a
friend at that time, but my old brain doesn't remember the year. It
copied on VHF quite well, but struggled on HF, even with their "filter
board".
Just out of curiosity, how much are you asking for it?

Don, WB5HAK
