I may have found the answer to my earlier question of how the signal on C5
and C15 gets transferred to the selector magnets.
I found this document on Nick's Navy Radio site (same place I found the
other document):

On page 238 is a much better diagram of the circuitry without all the
intervening connection points highlighted. It makes it ever so much easier
to understand.
And from the schematic I have discerned that one winding on the line relay
acts as a bias on the electro-magnet on the inside of the relay, while the
other winding that is in the receive/transmit loop causes the contacts in
the relay to open and close in sync with the received character causing the
selector magnets to operate.
Still looking for verification that the newer sealed relay is pin compatible
with the old style 255 relay. My guess is that it is, but want some
assurance.
