One more reminder for the Santa Tracker: test messages begin every hour on the hour at 3:00 PM MST tomorrow, December 23, 2020. Tracking in earnest begins roughly 3:00 AM MST, to run for approximately 24 hours thereafter.

http://tty.nerdology.org:8000/santatrack (will have a 404 error until maybe 30 - 60 minutes before the test messages begin)

Other details in the original message below.

I hope you're able to join and enjoy.

Merry Christmas!

>> Come one and all, great and small, boys and girls, old and young, to tune in to the second annual Santa Tracker broadcast where we follow Santa on his journey around the world through the eyes of individuals who sight the jolly old elf and radio it in.

>> The audio stream can be accessed at http://tty.nerdology.org:8000/santatrack. Note that this URL will result in a 404 until shortly before the first test message begins at 2:00 PM MST on December 23.
>>
>> * Test messages with Christmas songs/poems will be sent on the hour every hour starting Wednesday, December 23 at 3:00 PM MST to give people across worldwide time zones a chance to get set up.
>> * Tracking will begin at some point after 3:00 AM MST on Thursday, December 24-- whenever the first confirmed sighting of Old Saint Nick comes in.
>> * Brief messages describing where Santa was spotted and a description of what happened will flow for roughly the next 24 hours until he finishes his work and heads back to the North Pole for a well deserved sugar coma.
>> * If you're able to stay tuned in for the full broadcast even though parts if it will come when you're sleeping, I invite you to do that so you can still enjoy reports that come in overnight.
>> * While not required, a globe or world map is a great companion for those curious enough to try and follow along geographically.
>> * If you've tuned in to the exceptional ITTY 60 WPM service before, then you can tune in to this with the same equipment and settings except the stream URL. The one difference is that I won't be able to make this USOS-friendly as I just haven't had time to implement that (I said I would after Halloween, but you know how life has a way of conspiring against you). Though it would be little more than an annoyance for those that have the functionality, if you're able to disable it or use a machine without it, your experience will be a bit better.
>> I hope you're able to tune in for some or all of the broadcast. Merry Christmas and 73s,
