The earlier Dovetron units had a tan front panel, and a big board inside
with everything mounted on the main board.  I suspect that version is
pretty close to the one in Scharfe's patent 4,013,965.  appparently it
didn't work as well as expected, as the later versions, the black panel
ones, all seem to have that main board with quite a few of the parts 
pulled off and a daughter board that plugs into the IC sockets on the main 
board.  The daughter board is called a "binary bit processor" and there
are several versions of that board.
