Thanks for all the replies, I have been studying the ST-8000, and knew it could not switch / control a current loop directly, was just wondering if someone had designed and built one already and done the hard work for me...Hi Hi, I'll look at the LP-1210 manual and study one circuit (don't need 10) I would also be interested in a copy LP1200 manual.
I figured something could be done with opto isolators and possibly additional hardware to use the low voltage out from the ST-8000 to control the loop, just wondered if someone had already been down this path.
Also realized that I could use the regenerated output to drive something like an ST-6, or CT2200 both of which I have.
A loop supply is no real issue as I have scene several simple circuits for this
Any and all ideas are welcome.

Steve

I’m using a M28ASR with an ST-8000. It definitely requires some sort of RS-232 to loop converters. I had all sorts of trouble trying to get it to work with a single loop. I finally ended up separating the keyboard and printer for a full-duplex hookup. I used simple optoisolators for converters.
