Greetings Greenkeys!

I was alerted by a Ham friend to a derelict house that was being cleaned
out prior to the arrival of the bulldozers - a lot of old mil and ham
gear, a Model 15, a couple of CV-116s, a CV-89, some homebrew stuff, and
a Northern 107 Type 2 and a 102 Mod1 Tone Keyer.

So I hauled a lot of that jun.....   "equipment" home. That's what I
need: more TTY gear...   smh....

This evening I thought it might be fun to try and wake up the 107, even
though it's currently filthy / groty /disgusting from years of neglect.
So I did the variac slow-dance - everything warmed up, no capacitors
detonated nor rectifier tubes went to a beautiful sparkly death - so far
so good.

Hooked up an audio oscillator - by golly it's actually discriminating!
And the loop supply is producing 60 mA when it's supposed to.

So: drug out a Model 15 and a WiFi tablet, dialed up ITTY, wired it all
together....  (cue Boris Karloff)  "Eeeet's uhliiiive! Uhliiiiive!!!!"
(/Boris)

In the photo can be seen the tablet just to the left of the 107, the 15
was out of frame to the right printing ITTY while the photo was taken.

I think I'll restore the old girl - clean out the years of gunk and
dust, all new tubes, maybe a few resistors / capacitors - the CRT has a
hole burned in the center, so a new one of those... freshen up the
panel, new knobs...  re-chrome the bumpers and bolt on some new whitewalls.

;}

Anyway, another old bit of classic TTY gear is saved from Scrap.
Gracias C.M.!

Cheers
