You could probably find a local freight trucking company to ship it for a
lot less. You don't want to go directly to one of the big carriers like
FedEx or UPS. The trucking companies have an industrial rate they work out
with each other and if you can get that rate it's a lot less. I bought a
250 pound plotter from a company 2000 miles away and was getting quotes from
FedEx Freight for about $800 to ship it. I found a local trucking company
that got it done for $100. I picked it up at their local depot.

Hey Jim;

If you're talking about Los Angeles, well I'm down in San Diego and still
have the crate I had made when I had a 35-KSR shipped over here from one of
the upper middle states.

I don't remember what it cost to make - but if you want to pick it up I'll
let you have it for $100.oo.

Let me know if you're interested or not - since I'll have to go behind some
cabinets where the crate is.
