I recently came across the operator's manual for the E-6A TACAMO aircraft.
This is an airborne 200kw VLF transmitter to relay communications to
submarines (via a 25,000' trailing wire antenna).

Anyway, what to my wondering eyes should appear but a model 28 TD and model
28 reperf. The TD feeds a Baudot-to-Morse converter for sending Morse
messages via the VLF transmitter.

OK, 1998 seems like a pretty late date for Model 28 gear, but what can you
say, paper tape is dependable. I don't know what flies aboard the current
E-6B model...

In case you are curious, TACAMO info is here along with a link to the 100MB
pdf manual.
