There is no machine. It's a recording. He is trying to make light of it.

This article from the Inquirer says that KYW has stopped using their trusty
old Teletype because they stopped making the ribbons in 1986, and their
supply has run out. Does this make sense? I was under the impression that
teletypes do (or at least can) use standard typewriter ribbons. Are there
some specific models that can't, and if anyone knows what model they have,
is it one of these?

I find this claim to be dubious. I have a feeling some higher-up just
wanted the rustbucket old machine to be gone.

Thanks in advance for any insight you all have!

73,

Chris
