[GreenKeys] NWS weather bulletin Teletype software available soon / Volpe boards soon.....

Kind of ironic that you posted this...I was almost going to post the same
thing. I spent some time goofing around with my Model 32 literally
yesterday, and a Volpe board. I did the same thing but started to build it
in Powershell, which may (hopefully) be cross-compatible with Linux and Pi
as well as Windows (Powershell 7). Powershell is included in every version
of Windows since Windows 7, and Powershell 7 is open-source and
cross-compatible with MAC and Linux. Since the volpe board more or less has
a baudot device emulating a serial terminal, the same script can be used
for any serial terminal as well.
For now, it asks for a command from the TTY (kind of like the jumpwords AOL
and other services used back in the day) and produces some output. So far I
have it pulling the NWS forecast as well as well as random cat facts (first
freebie API I happened to find). I will likely add a few more APIs or other
features to it for fun but also useful, inspired by the Heavy Metal program
thats written in Perl. I did all this yesterday lol.
(The formatting in the pic is a little wonky due to my TTY keyboard
constantly sticking - I need to clean and lubricate it). My line-wrapping
setup is only 2 rules at the moment so while it could be tighter to the
right edge, its not bad.
