Greetings --
I'd like ask for advice of fellow Greenkeyers.
I have a Bell System Model 15 that sits on a home brew table with casters I
made from wood scrapes about about 25 years ago. The casters makes the TTY
mobile, but in a way it's *too* mobile when it's typing. It wants to go
for a random walk. I need to swap out the casters with wheels that include
locking brakes.
Here's a link a photo of my two TTY machines, the Model 15 and the
Frankenstein 28RO (Frankenstein due to it's apparent creation from various
spare parts by some third-party TTY service entity).

I've been thinking about putting the 28RO on wheels but haven't done so
because the unit feels very top heavy. There's nothing in the cabinet
except for the motor and typing unit, high in the cabinet. To put the 28RO
on wheels I am considering making a small platform on wheels, with the
platform composed of 3/4" plywood for the 28RO to sit on, with some 3/4"
molding around the perimeter of the platform so the 28 can't vibrate off of
the platform, and then also add some concrete pavers to the open area of
the plywood platform to lower the center of gravity. And that got me to
thinking further....
It seems like Teletype had a solution for situation. Is there a Teletype
recommend way to put a Model 28 on wheels? One where would not feel like
it might tip over? If not, do Greenkeyers have any suggestions about how I
might put a 28 on wheets? (something better than my plywood platform on
wheels with extra ballast resting on the platform)?
thanks,
Paul, ad7i
