Actually, yes: The Safari Park (part of
The San Diego Zoo) set up a Australia Walk
where there are 'roos and Wallabys. We have
some Platypus but they are kept in such a
dark environment that you can barely make
them out in the water.

Anyway, the enclosure has pebble paths in it
and the rules are IF an animal comes onto the
path, you can pet it - but once it leave, you
may not go onto the grass - because they want
the animals to feel secure. I was there one
morning and a wallaby came up to me. I got to
pet him for about 5 minutes. They are interesting
creatures.
