[GreenKeys] Help with a motor

It looks like a gutted 28TD to me, am I right?

Anyways, I totally like to agree with Ralph!

I restored a powered sewing machine long time ago and I couldn't find out where the noise was coming from. Slowly I took one mechanical part after the other of the machine until I had only the motor left.
The verdict: bad bearings inside the motor (shaft) under a mechanical load. Luckily I found another motor, assembled the machine back together and the problem was solved. I tested the bad motor later on the bench by itself again and used an old leather clove to create a load - same bad noises.

Hey, I can be wrong !!!

Subject: [GreenKeys] Help with a motor

Hi gang:

I am having some difficulty with a Miniature motor (161984). I am pretty sure it is electrical, but what do I know. :-)

When turned on and running it makes a loud noise and a lot of vibration.

When turned off, the noise stops and it silently coasts to a stop.

If it IS electrical the only problem I see is either the cap or the relay.

Would anyone have an answer to this?

I am going try to attach a short video to this message - hope it works.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Tom
