Yes but to attain the value there must be a market - clearly there is here of course. I collect valves and I have at least one that is the only known example in the world, but it’s such a niche area that the value is probably very little. Now, audio valves are a different matter!

Interesting on the 5-bit stuff, I’d not thought of it that way. Way back when (early 1970’s I guess) I renovated a number of Creed 7E’s and sold them on to hams via Radcom ads. Those were the days. I should have seen the potential value of the Teletypes we had at work but by then my thoughts were less (R)TTY and more motorsport and so I was very poor…

At least I now have a 444 to play with (if I ever get the time to get it working)
