[GreenKeys] off the shelf power supply for model 28 loop supply

Why not make a loop supply. I have multiple supplies as they are that difficult to implement.

Thanks

I have a Hal ct-2200

Not sure if it works

But the manual says it doesn’t have a loop supply

I just bought one of his boards

What I want to do is have a arduino or raspberry send txt messages to the model 28 for alarms on solar and aquaponics when an error occurs

Maybe the simplest way is to wait for a Hal st-6 to show up on eBay?

Or something along those lines?

Virgil,

it depends on what you want to do. If you want to only use Jordan’s board, you only need a loop supply. The problem with many dedicated power supplies is having sufficient range to set the voltage and current to the levels you need. 5 volts is not enough. Most loop supplies are 130VDC and supply 60ma, so if you can find a variable supply that gets up into those ranges you will be ok. People have occassionally posted here different supplies they have found only that work well for them.

If you want to do more, like hook it to ITTY, you will want a TU (which has a built in loop supply). They come up often on eBay or someone on this group might have a spare lying around.

TUs vary from black boxes to ones with lights to ones with scopes. Blinken lights are always fun.

I'm finally starting to think about hooking up my teletype.

I don't think I have the skills to build a loop supply.

Can I buy something like a 1 amp dc power supply from somebody like astron and use that?
