[GreenKeys] [External] Tip on loops

Trying to read some of the explanations of the US "ban", they SAY there was no "ban" on the bulbs but only phased-in requirements for higher energy efficiency. But those caused 60W & other bulbs to cease production. Some returned with halogen technology inside a normal-looking bulb. I use lots of pseudo-60W halogens. They have light output comparable to old 60W bulbs but run on only ~43W.
Also found that there were additional "bans" to kick in Jan 2020 that extended to previously exempted bulb types (e.g., candelabra, etc.) but the Trump admin halted those changes.

So I'm not imagining things.
I thought the primary thrust originally was elimination of the common
60, 75 and 100 watt incandescent bulbs. Decorative and appliance lamps
being excluded. In the meantime there's an open range assortment of CFL
and LED substitutes. Not all of them are friendly to the RF atmosphere.
Originally we were told the CFL would last 10 times longer. I never
found that to be the case.
Speaking of RF interference, I've found a LED lamp at Ikea that seems to
be clean. At least I can turn it on and not have the local 50kW AM
station blanks out. Physically it looks like a 40 watt incandescent.
It makes a nice desk lamp. And they are only $1.00 ... a loss leader?
