Interesting; 11th November is Remembrance Day (aka Armistice Day) in 
what's left of the British Commonwealth, and believe me is just as sacred, 
with The Ode recited at 1100 (local) and the Last Post, followed by a 
minute's silence.

Our other sacred day is Anzac Day (VK/ZL) each 25th April, observing the 
botched Gallipoli landing.
