I don't know the answer to your question but a few months ago, I went with the lower front compartment cover of my 28KSR to a local Sherwin & Williams store and learned that they can do a 100% color match, even with the slight crackled appearance.
>From what I understand, the painting process is divided into three different stages:
The first coat is the color of the crackles, the second coat is the actual main color and it is very special paint that cracks randomly during the drying process in order to show the color here and there from the first coat. And finally you have to apply a semigloss or satin protective coat over. Of course you need a spray gun etc. Make sure that you lightly clean with deluded acetone before each coat.
The entire process takes about 10 days because you have to let each coating cure for at least two days - better three.
And of course you have to strip the old, existing paint off - sandblasting is preferred over paintstriper.
Good luck and keep us updated.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Paint used on Creed 7E et. al.
After a bunch of searching, I finally got my hands on a Creed 7E. It just arrived from the UK the other day. Restoration work ahead.
Does anyone happen to know what the greyish paint that they used for machines of that era was? There’s a certain texture/sort of mottled finish to it as well.
Thanks
--Chris
