[GreenKeys] Model 33 ASR Ribbon Feed Problem

Hello Wayne,

I had a look today and I can see that the feed pawl spring has become detached from the feed pawl. I have removed the ribbon mechanism in order to fix it. I am just not entirely sure where to attach it on the feed pawl. There is a small hole behind the felt ring, is that where it should go?

Thanks

Rob

Rob,

Check to make sure the ribbon is not binding on the guides and that it is fully in the guides but not behind the two chrome fingers that rest on the platen. Also that it comes off the spools easily.

There may be a spring undone in the ribbon feed mechanism. Remove the ribbon and check. Check to see if the mechanism works without the ribbon installed. Any character typed will advance the mechanism. Delete is good.

If none of the above fixes the problem, I will get back to you with an adjustment tweak.

73,

Wayne
