Hey Mark,
Welcome to the list - looks like you have your hands full with this beautiful hobby.
Please let us know what key caps are missing on your 15KSR - nothing worse than missing parts on a teletype machine.

Subject: [GreenKeys] My Introduction
Hello,
I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Mike Arrington. I’ve been a member
of Green Keys for several months now, lurking and going through the
archives.
Back in the early 1970’s, I purchased the following from an auction at
a local university:
. Teletype Model 14 TD (2)
. Teletype Model 14 Reperforator
. Teletype Model 15 Page Printer (KSR)
. Teletype Model 28 KSR (parts missing)
. Kleinschmidt TT-271/FG and TT-271B/FG (In their boxes as shipped
from Tinker AFB)
Later adding
. IBM 029 Keypunch
. Teletype Model 33 ASR
. Cincinatti Milacron CIP/200B Minicomputer
. Several mechanical and electronic calculators
. Teletype ED51ET from an auction site
There is much wisdom and knowledge on this list and I’ve tried to
absorb as much as I’m capable of. Many thanks to all of you.
Additional thanks to Gil for maintaining this list.
Much thanks to all the web sites that have documentation on these
beautiful machines. www.navy-radio.com<http://www.navy-radio.com> has been especially helpful.
What am I working on? For the last couple of months, I’ve been
working on the Model 15 KSR, carefully disassembling, cleaning, and
oiling, trying not to disturb any adjustments. Last week, I purchased
a Heathkit HD 3030 Terminal Interface, mainly for the loop power
supply. The Model 15 worked fine locally. I then realized that I could
use this with ITTY. It didn’t work. I cleaned up a couple of pots, and
aligned the unit using tones generated with Audicity. Now the Mark and
Space LEDs were blinking. I hooked it up to the Model 15 and, nothing.
I checked the loop power supply. Over 100 mA and constant marking. A
transistor had shorted. I replaced that tonight and hooked up the
Model 15 and fired up ITTY. The TTY started printing perfectly. It
could use a bit of adjustment though. My main problem at this point is
rusted, damaged, or missing key caps.
I’ve also started working on the Model 14 Reperforator. It’s pretty
much glued together. I had this working in the ‘70s, but probably used
3-in-1 oil or WD-40 to lube it. Very bad idea. I’m slowly freeing it
up.
