Greenkeyers:
    I read with great interest the comments re telegrams and their appeal.
It reminded me of 1949 when I was a freshman in high school taking a course
in "electrical theory".  The teacher requested opinions from the students
as to whether the telephone or telegram was a better means of communication.
     I asked my Dad who was a W.U. telegrapher, both Morse and teletype all
of his working years from 1919 to 1965, for his opinion.  He responded that
though the telephone was instantaneous, with a telegram you have a
permanent physical record of the information!
     The H.S. teacher was impressed when I relayed that comment.
