[GreenKeys] E-bay

The high priced eBay and CraigsList listings helps to show others (wives, family members) that don’t recognize the historical value or understand the thrill of watching it work, that it has a monetary value, and it’s not just “old stuff” or “junk”. It gives you time to explain to them the full and real value of the equipment. I keep a printout of some of the high priced listings along with the history and specifications in a binder for all of my vintage hardware.
Reasonably priced equipment is still out there if you keep a lookout. And I appreciate the members of this list that have provided parts and complete machines at little or no cost to others. Every machine restored and operating preserves the history and helps to show a new generation where today’s technology came from.

I just gave away a NICE 28ASR, 28KSR and 15 for FREE. There are others available.
Don’t waste time on EBay.

Hi All,
Some cat on e-bay has a Model 28 ASR (looks just like mine) and is asking 2 thousand dollars for it.
REALLY?
Another has an old beat up Model 28 KSR, perf and TD for 2 hundred something. They look like they lived in a barn or something. the glass is broken on both the perf and the KSR, and the TD is missing its' platten.
Has my hobby gotten too expensive for folks like me?
Best,
