Thanks for the reply. There isn't much in booklet 47K, but I think I have
solved it. It is the springs.
I thought I had fixed them all, but one had come loose and was tangled with
the one for the adjacent key.
Just to make things interesting getting too it was made harder by the
answerback unit.
I must have had the keyboard on and off a hundred times..

Dave,
I cant remember how it does it but will see if I can work it out on Tuesday
at the museum.
It seems all the Type N keyboard info is in Instruction Booklet No. 47K.
